Mountain Walks

Walking is one of the most popular activities around the mountain of the park. You can find leaflets with local routes and even guided walks during all seasons. Some of the most walked routes include the Glenmore area, Rothiemurchus Estate and Speyside Way.  

Walking is the best way to discover the natural beauty and wildlife of the region. You could get cracking every morning and you wouldn't know before it gets to dusk!

Snowboarding and Skiing 

You will find 3 of Scotland's 5 skiing centres in Cairngorms National Park. During winter you can visit the Lecht, Glenshee or CairnGorm skiing centres to enjoy some exciting snowboarding and skiing. 

Thrilling Water sports 

The area is home to some of the most magnificent rivers and lochs in the whole Europe giving you opportunities for rafting, surfing, sailing, windsurfing, swimming and fishing.

You can find them close to the villages and towns like Atholl, Royal Deeside, Glenshee, Angus Glens and Aviemore regions.  Also visit the water sport centres Loch Insh and Loch Morlich for some amazing views and thrilling water activities. 

Wildlife Spotting 

Your activities in Cairngorms National Park should also include some wildlife spotting as the park is home to some of the rarest and endangered species on planet. You can find several guided programs around the region including Speyside wildlife that give you a close look at the animals and birds.
