Cairngorms National Park

Spanning across four highland counties and covering a total of over 4,500 km2 of land, the Cairngorms National Park is truly a wonder to behold. It's dramatic landscapes are home to a rich heritage and a fantastic array of native British Species. Millions are attracted every year by the abundance of attractions and breathtaking scenery. It's the largest National Park in the UK, established in 2003 as the second National Park in Scotland.


Cairngorms Holiday Cottages are ideally located in the Northern part of the Cairngorms, enjoying the beautiful panoramic views of the River Avon, Strathspey. From our cottages, you can freely explore most of the Cairngorms and other famous Scottish landmarks and attractions such as Fort William and Loch Ness. We are conveniently close to major roads for ease of transport yet sufficiently secluded to offer a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

Walking

Over 36% of the surface within the boundaries of the Cairngorms National Park is above 800m in altitude thanks to it's namesake- the Cairngorm mountain range. There are a total of 55 munros within the Park area, attracting thousands of keen walkers and adventurous spirits every year.

With over 25% of the UK's endangered and threatened species making their home in the Park's ancient pine forests, you cannot go far in the Cairngorms before spotting charming and endearing species such as Red Squirrels and the majestic Red Deer. If you are lucky, you may see a Golden Eagle soaring overhead!

Heritage

Scotland's long history of royal fueds and battles has left the Cairngorms with a rich inheritance of its most beautiful castles. Some of these are still open to visitors in these modern times, offering a rare opportunity to delve into the deep history of the land. The closest castle to Cairngorms Holiday Cottages is Drumin Castle.
